GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, ARIZONA.

GRAND CANYON, NATIONAL PARK. ARIZONA. November 1st, 2nd, 2018
Last, but not least, "The Canyon of all Canyons". Not our first time there, but I just had to return, to this majestic wonder of the world, once more in my life time. The Grand Canyon, has to be on my top list of the most amazing places I have visited on this planet, among Percé Rock, Lake Louise and the Canadian Rockies.
Taking advantage of our early afternoon arrival on November 1st, we visited the welcome Center, in order to plan our next 24 hours in the park. We started off,  by visiting the East section of the park, trying to stay ahead of the sun's daylight, to take in the panoramic views, and watch the sun set in it's fiery colours of reds and golds, on the evening blue canyon ridges.
Early next morning, we hiked most of the south ridge of the canyon, took hundreds of photos, but none of them, believe me, gives justice to the magnificence it has to offer. Far from having the skills, knowledge and equipment of a professional photographer, I spent relentless hours, sorting, deleting, and selecting photos I wanted  to share on my blog. The more I looked at them, the more I think they looked the same, resulting in being totally stumped in my choices. This being said, I challenge you, to  look very closely at each one of them and see for yourself, the struggle I had.
Again, in order to appreciate the beauty and splendour of such a Canyon, carved millions of years by the Colorado River, you really need to see it to believed  it.
We were very happy to leave the area and the Colorado Plateaus, after spending much time traveling  in higher altitudes, driving through mountains, valleys, challenging switchbacks, not to mention having to tolerate colder highland temperatures, flirting with the freezing mark.
Enjoy.
