December 28 2014. (Late entry)
Virginia Beach.
Boxing Day was the start to our migration South. The temperatures are above seasonal. Great road conditions, we've hit as high as 17 degrees Celsius along the way. Third day on the road. Having worked shift work, week ends and Holidays all our lives we rarely travelled during this busy time of the year. We encountered a lot of traffic most of the way, with significant delays outside of New York and Washington. The wait crossing the Canadian/US borders was approximatively 40 min.
We took a small detour today to spend the night in Virginia Beach. Great room with balcony on the Atlantic Ocean. The sound of the surf was music to our ears. I wonder Why? Found it very interesting to see the walk way along the beach all decorated and lit for Christmas. Virginia beach has a strip along its beach line, similar to Daytona. A parade of vehicles took a festive drive to see the lights.
